Vintage Mid Century 1960’s Turnidge of London Cocktail Bar Metamorphic Cabinet. Good condition for a well used cocktail cabinet that is nearly 60 years old. Couple of small marks on the exterior an a darker glass ring on the top but other than that it is really clean. There are 2 small chains that hold the winged panels when opened but they have both broken in the middle due to age. The panels still stay in place though with the top panel folded out on top. There is a light on the inside but has had the plug cut off as it would need upgrading to modern wiring. Fold out top and winged side panels, glass top panel and 2 sliding glass panels on the back. 1 tray, 5 cocktail picks and 2 juicers (one cocktail pick is missing). There was originally a Turnidge makers sticker on the inside of the door but it has been removed. You can still see the mark from where it was though. Cabinet home office by Newcraft of London, this metamorphic, Mid Century cabinet opens to reveal a desk and workstation with fitted interior. The side cabinets swing open on brass piano hinges to reveal adjustable shelves and compartments. The pull-out leather writing surface has clever dropleaf extensions either side of the desk to offer a larger work space when required. A clever and well thought out piece of space saving furniture. Newcraft attribution label is still attached and original files still present! Condition report – in good/used condition. Baring signs of previous use, the odd scuff and scrape, commensurate with age and use. Length 83.5cm extended 168cm. Please be aware that this item does show signs of use but that is to be expected considering its age and does add authenticity to the item. The key only locks the smaller door as the lock to the larger side has been removed however it opens and closes as intended. Natural aged patina which.
