Charles Eames For Vitra RAR Rocking Chair. A wonderful Eames RAR Rocking Chair by Vitra – fully stamped underneath. In 9/10 condition, just a few very light scratches on the seat. Wooden runners in great condition as is the wire structure base. A genuine British design classic. Designed in 1950, the RAR chair is a variation of the signature Eames DSR chair, with the addition of maple runners to replicate the traditional delights of a rocker. The traditional rocking chair is an enduring symbol of relaxation, reinterpreted and manufactured by Vitra to reflect the famous Eames style. Originally crafted in the materials of mid-century modernism, the current edition is crafted from a dyed-through polypropylene shell and the iconic Eifel base in black wire, on golden maple runners. Printed with the signatures of the designers as a sign of authenticity, Vitra continues to manufacture the Eames RAR Chair to the highest quality, maintaining the superior comfort and prestigious design that Charles and Ray Eames originally created.
