Robin Day Sofa Bed – produced by Habitat around 1995. Elegant, slim, low rise design with walnut veneer arms and adjustable back-rest, which can be lifted and rotated downwards to create a generously sized single bed. This sofa has its original cotton/polyester fabric upholstery which apart from the odd minor pull is in very good condition. The piece is similar to the original, designed in 1957 which, in the same year, won the Design Council Design of the Year award. An example is now held in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Dimensions: Height: 68cm x L: 207cm x D: 86cm Seat Depth: 60cm Seat Height: 38cmSleeping Area: 83cm x 199cm. The sofa is in overall good condition but is listed as used so do not expect a new or refurbished item. As mentioned previously a few, barely noticeable pulls in the fabric. One of the metal stops which hold the back in place when up is missing but this doesn’t seem to affect it. As you would expect the walnut veneer arms have various small dents, nicks, scuffs and scratches. The sofa is very well made and sturdy. Collection only from Plymouth. A rare original robin day hillestak dining set with beech frames and contrasting plywood teak fronts. A stunning item with superb quality and craftsmanship throughout. The teak grain is vibrant and figurative with beautiful patina. The set has been professionally restored and is in very good condition with only minimal signs of wear and use. All chairs and the table are strong and sturdy with no loose joints or wobbles. Their are four chairs with original nickel studs to the backs and two chairs without which can be used as the two head chairs. Table width 152 cm depth 66 cm height 72 cm.
