Hyperion Floating Wall Units & Shelves, teak, mid century vintage retro V RARE

Beautiful, incredibly scarce, Hyperion of England wall mounted (or could easily pop on some hairpin legs) wall units x 2 and 2 matching floating shelves. The first picture shows how they were originally fitted (prior to refurb) but can obviously be arranged however you choose. Designed and manufactured by Ken Poulter / Hyperion in the early 1960s. Ken’s focus on innovation and quality lead to some lovely designs that look as good today as they did 60 years ago, these particular items are very much in the Danish style, similar to G Plan, etc but much more scarce. Their original finish had deteriorated over the years so they have been stripped and treated to several coats of Danish oil and a final clear wax to preserve. They’ve been used for 60 years so there are signs of use but only light marks at worst, all doors, drawers and shelves function as they should, the are a couple of marks on the underside of one shelf where a candle has been used beneath. The larger unit features 3 drawers and 2 sliding doors, the smaller has 2 sliding doors and open shelves. Complete with original hardwood wall mounts (these simply screw to the wall and the units hook on, the mounts are close to the full width of the units allowing very secure fixing). 60″ wide x 17″ deep x 18 tall. 60″ wide x 11″ deep x 13 high. 54″ x 6.5″. 30″ x 6.5″.
