Fabulous rare pair of genuine Mid Century atomic era UFO style ceiling lampshades… We rescued these in situ during a recent house renovation where they’d been for decades. Brushed copper tone metal with perspex top and bottom and small perspex textured inserts all around. One is in good general vintage condition – the other has some damage which can be seen in the pics. Is missing one of it’s perpex inserts and also has some splits along the top of the circular perspex top. Has been glue repaired at some point (the metal holder pieces, just slot inside). It does the job and was not at all noticeable when in situ. We think it would benefit from a stronger repair though, just to be on the safe side as it would be harder to replace the perpsex at the top, which is where it hangs and supports the metal hanger. The underside is fine. Each measure approx 38cm in diameter and are approx 12cm high. A quite stunning and rare find, in generally pretty good condition for era… Circa mid’60’s.
